Our love lives are constantly in pieces. Shifting in and out of feeling fully complete. But you never know how a single spark one day can unlock a new you, so we make a choice at the crossroad, we say yes to the coffee date, and wherever that leads, we learn to embrace the journey. In Pieces reflects on the romantic journeys of eight individuals, as they share, ponder and look back on the chosen paths and partners along the way. Set in New York City, thereā€™s the scary excitement of being vulnerable and saying yes to whatever adventure is ahead. The magical first kiss. An unlikely friendship. Well-kept secrets. The monotony. The rebound. An awkward reunion on the 1 train. And the honest conversations of deserving more. All these pieces of a life that at times connect and disconnect, but once at a distance, come together to create a universal remembrance of what itā€™s like to be young and learning in love.

There have been many original musicals written right here in Singapore for - and performed by - Singapore school students. However, a good many of these musicals are not well known as they have been mostly watched by small private audiences with a limited number of performances. Over the past 20-odd years, many such works were created by professionals engaged by schools keen on staging their own musicals, often to grace a special school milestone or as a fundraising event or as a school-wide extra-curricular activity. This Presentation cum Showcase hopes to reveal some of this hidden work by way of featuring a selection of songs from these original musicals performed by musical theatre professionals with a brief introduction as to the song/scene context and how these songs were created.
