Children's Season 2024 - Sparking Wonder and Curiosity in Children

i Light Singapore (iLSG) returns for its 10th edition from 31 May to 23 June 2024 to light up Marina Bay and its neighbouring precincts. Beyond Marina Bay, South Beach and Millenia Walk, iLSG will also be arriving in Tanjong Pagar for the first time.

iLSG 2024 will feature 17 artworks by 25 artists. This year’s Festival is inspired by the theme of Cyclical Nature and the colour green, a wavelength on the visible light spectrum that symbolises nature and our environment. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in contemplative and interactive artworks that explore the endless potential of everyday objects for re-design, restoration and repurposing.

Gastrobeats - Great Food, Music and Family Times

GastroBeats, the Festival Village of i Light Singapore 2024, will feature a wide range of gastronomic delights and musical experiences. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with the inclusion of more sustainably-produced food options, including items cultivated through organic farming methods, locally-grown seasonal produce and ethically sourced meat. An enticing array of local and international cuisine ranging from Mexican tacos, Russian dumplings and prawn noodles awaits.

This year, GastroBeats will strengthen its sustainability efforts by using rechargeable batteries for selected lighting posts and in powering back-of-house operations. Solar energy will also be used to power air-conditioned “portaloos”, setting a new benchmark for eco-conscious event amenities. To encourage visitors to put into practice green habits, GastroBeats strongly encourages visitors to bring their own cup/flask/tupperware to reduce waste. As the mid-year school holidays approach, Downtown East, is proud to present Marine Marvels, an exciting celebration of ocean conservation and adventure. The mega attraction combines fun and educational elements in not one but four highly engaging zones from 24 May to 28 July 2024.

Be swept away by Singapore’s longest marine-inspired inflatable obstacle course at Wild Wild Wet. It’s custom built to emulate the ocean’s obstacles and challenges, navigated by sea creatures. Unleash your inner explorer and test your agility and endurance, traversing the record-breaking 85m inflatable course.

Head over to the Open-Air Carpark to experience Glow Coast Carnival filled with dazzling photo spots filled with neon signboards and exciting family rides with old school carnival game booths. 

There will also be interactive light, soundscape and digital panels – and a spectacular life-sized digital tank built around the sustainability and marine conservation theme at the Event Square

You can also take part in the milk-bottle feeding of kois at the Wild Wild Wet entrance, a unique experience with nature. 

Children’s Festival Featuring Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2

Gardens by the Bay’s signature Children’s Festival returns for its 10th edition during the June school holidays, this time featuring Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2!

The Supertree Grove will be the only place in Southeast Asia where families can enjoy an Inside Out 2-themed outdoor carnival with large-scale installations, and most of the activities are free. Interactive installations featuring the characters from Inside Out 2 – the core Emotions Joy, Anger, Sadness, Fear and Disgust, alongside new arrivals Emotions such as Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment – help kids get acquainted with their emotions and feelings through play.

This year’s Children’s Festival is held in conjunction with the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s month-long National Family Festival. Led by the Families for Life Council and its partners across the people, public and private sectors to celebrate families and to encourage everyone to prioritise family time.

So come conquer challenges as a family at the Airport Horticulturist Quest and learn fun facts about the plants and nature found in the Changi Airport. One of our favourite activities for toddlers and preschoolers is back! The opportunity to visit the Police Heritage Centre for a specially curated tour for 4 to 12 year olds are back this Children's Season 2024! 

The 60 minutes outreach programme is targeted at young children from 4 to 12 years old. During the visit, little ones can learn more about the Police Force through a guided tour and take part in an engagement session with our officers from various Police units. They can even dress up in the kid-sized uniforms!

Get ready to celebrate Family Time at the Families for Life’s (FFL) National Family Festival (NFF), happening from 25 May to 23 June! Families can look forward to a wide array of activities spread across Singapore. Highlights include lively family carnivals at Singapore Expo Hall 2 and three heartland locations – One Punggol, Lot One Shopper’s Mall, and Bukit Canberra. 

  • National Family Festival Carnival @ Singapore Expo Hall 2 (1 - 2 Jun 2024): Families can expect a variety of sport try-outs, fundamental movement skills activity and family challenges aimed at promoting active participation and foster family bonding through sport. There will also be free family workshops, craft activities and food trucks too! 
  • One Punggol (8 - 9 Jun 2024): Take part in the National Brick Club Family League Challenge, PropNex Monopoly Family Fun Challenge, Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course and more! There will also be vehicular display by the Singapore Police Force too! 
  • Lot 1 Shopping Mall (8 - 9 Jun 2024): Take part in FFL marriage and parenting programmes, engaging activities designed to foster family bonding and the Singapore Police Force (SPF) uniforms try-out too! 
  • Bukit Canberra (8 - 9 Jun 2024): Families can expect a variety of sport try-outs, fundamental movement skills activity and family challenges aimed at promoting active participation and foster family bonding through sport as well as storytelling sessions by the Singapore Police Force too! 

NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra at Fort Canning Green

The 20th edition of NParks Concert Series in the Park: Rockestra will be at Fort Canning Green on 1 Jun 2024 from 6.30 pm to 10 pm. 

Take this chance to be acquainted and support with our local homegrown artistes, Club Mild, Owen Li, Shazza and SuperSonic who will be serving up a mix of cover and original songs to the theme of "Hits: Different"!

ASSISI Hospice Fun Day 2024

Don’t miss the most fun and meaningful activity this June holidays! Bond with your family and friends at the biggest charity carnival of the year – Assisi Fun Day on 9th June 2024. With over 100 stalls offering exciting rides, games, activities and delicious treats, there is something for everyone – from the young to young-at-heart.

Besides having fun, you will be doing your part for a worthy cause! Assisi Fun Day 2024 is Assisi Hospice’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Funds raised will go towards supporting care for patients with terminal illnesses and their families. The mega carnival, co-organised with City Developments Limited, is a community event put together by staff and volunteers from all walks of life, including corporate organisations, church groups, schools and family-run businesses.

Admission is free and coupons for purchases and activities are available below. You can also make a direct donation. All proceeds will go towards supporting care for patients with terminal illnesses and their families.

Developed by a group of enthusiastic youths with a love for innovation and a knack for thinking outside the box, M.A.P. is a dynamic space where creativity and innovation collide in the realm of transportation.

Discover the creative play space at The Artground at Goodman Art Centre and let children come explore and have fun at the same time! From creating their own versions of transport vehicles using blue foams to climbing and sliding on the art installations, there is fun all around the art space. 

The experience is free with a $15 refundable deposit, and more programmes will be announced to complement the space too! 

Take Part in a Parent-Child Fishing Experience with a Decorative Fish Tank

An exciting activity for families has just popped up! The newly opened Nature Kindred is a nature-themed family space located within a plant nursery. Here, you will find various activities for families as well as a cafe for your meals too! 

Opened every Sat & Sun, the Parent-Child Fishing Experience will give your child the opportunity to catch guppies at the beautifully designed fish pond filled with little guppies of various colours and fin shapes. Armed with a little net and bucket, watch your child as they try to catch these little fishes, and we are sure you will want to join in too! 

You can choose to purchase the DIY Kit package that comes with the opportunity to decorate your own fish tank using rocks, sand and figurines! The collectible fish tank can house 2 to 3 fishes and is a great decorative piece at home! Or go without the kit and you will be provided a plastic container to bring the fishes home.

At the Beginners Kids Ceramic Workshop, children will try their hands at ceramics with guidance from an experience teacher from The Art Bones Studio. Students will get a first-hand experience with the building process for pottery, from start to finish. They will learn how to create their own pinch pots or coil pots with guidance, beginning with clay and encouraged to express their creativity by sculpting and decorating their product into personalised cups or flower pots.

The immersive games like “Treasure hunt” and “Find differences” help the kids to notice what is in front of them and remember better the history and culture part covered in the tour.

Older children and adults will use the audio guide created with a professional tour guide who has lots of experience with children by guiding schools.
