Free Things to do at Sentosa
Fort Siloso

Fort Siloso is one of the best places to visit if you love experiencing history or if you would like to introduce your children to a part of Singaporeâs history. Built to defend our small island from sea invasion in the late 19th century, the fort later provided support for the ground forces in resisting invasion from the Japanese troops during WWII. Today, the the historical site is gazetted as a National Monument and houses a store of WWII relics that paint a picture of events from years past!
For the best experience, you are recommended to start from Fort Siloso Skywalk. Standing 11-stories above ground, you will get to enjoy a sweeping view of the fort from the treetop trail. At the end of the trek, you can choose either the Gun Trail or the Heritage Trail to explore the military museum. The coastal guns, remains of fortified military structures and tunnels, wax figures, and interactive videos scattered along the trails bring to life one of the momentous events in Singaporeâs history.
To get to the Fort Siloso Skywalk, head towards Southside @ Sentosa and you will find a lift to bring you up the Skywalk.Â
Sentosa Nature Discovery

Aside from iconic sights and adventurous activities, Sentosa is also home to a range of thriving flora and fauna. You can learn more about them at the Sentosa Nature Discovery. Converted from an old Sentosa monorail station, the Sentosa Nature Discovery gallery showcases interactive exhibits and information about the eight natural habitats found on the island, the inhabitants and Sentosaâs heritage trees. There is also a Geology Gallery where you can learn about Sentosaâs geological formations.
Once you have loaded up on the information, you can exit the gallery to embark on a short trail across the Imbiah Bridge, which sits amidst tall trees. Kids will have fun spotting insect-eating plants, fluttering butterflies and migratory birds. There are also information panels along the way, so you never stop learning about the environment.
Beaches

Whether you want to go for a dip in the sea, build sandcastles or lay under the sun to generate Vitamin D, Sentosa has got your back. The island has not one but three different beaches! Located close to the Sentosa Express Beach Station is Siloso Beach. Sitting right at the heart of all the action with attractions such as the Mega Adventure Park, SkyPark Sentosa by AJ Hackett and Nestopia only a short distance away, Siloso Beach pulls a lot of visitors to its shores.
Further down from Siloso Beach is the tamer Palawan Beach. This family-friendly beach is also home to HydroDash, Singaporeâs first floating water park. Do note that there is an admission fee to enter the water park. If youâre looking for something a little more leisurely, you can take a trip to the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia. To reach the islet, all you have to do is cross a short suspension bridge from Palawan Beach. There you can climb one of the two viewing towers to enjoy a scenic view of the South China Sea.
To get away from all the hubbub and still enjoy the sea and the sand under the sun, head over to Tanjong Beach. As it is the furthest stop from the Sentosa Expressâ Beach Station, it is rarely crowded. Hence, Tanjong Beach has a more chill vibe.
Additionally, all three beaches are equipped with beach courts where you can flex your active side by playing sports like volleyball, football and frisbee.
Magical Shores

After the sun sets, the sandy stretch of Siloso Beach (near Ola Beach Club) transforms into something magical. An interactive beach light art display, Magical Shores projects light on the sand and two islets at Siloso Beach. Accompanied by sound, the presentation makes for a relaxing and magical experience.

The former Sentosa Musical Fountain was shut down in 2007 after decades of operation to make way for Resorts World Sentosa. The island has brought back a modern version of the beloved show with the new Sentosa Musical Fountain. It consists of two 5-minute performances. The first show presents songs from the original Sentosa Musical Fountain show while the second is made up of popular National Day songs. The new fountain uses the existing structure of the show Wings of Time.
To watch the Sentosa Musical Fountain, you are required to spend a minimum of $5 per person at International Food Street. Children under 4 years old enter for free.
Sentosa SkyJet

If you spot water sprouting in the air from afar, you have spotted the Sentosa SkyJet. Imagine a 24-storey building; that is how high this water feature is. It is the tallest fountain in Southeast Asia. An impressive sight to catch in the daytime, it is just as spectacular to view at night time as the fountainâs stream lights up with colourful LED lights.
For a better view, you can watch the fountain from the Wings of Time viewing gallery. To enter, you have to spend a minimum of $5 per person at the International Food Street. Children under 4 years enter for free.
Sentosa SkyJet, along with the Sentosa Musical Fountain is part of Central Beach Bazaar. The day-to-night beach carnival experience also includes a diverse range of affordable nosh as well as a gift shop.

The Palawan @ Sentosa

What do you think about taking an excursion up to the skies? If you got excited then SkyHelix Sentosa is just the place for you. Named after its vertical helix-like structure, SkyHelix is the highest open-air panoramic ride in Singapore. Donât be deceived by its height from the ground though as the ride ascends to 79 metres above sea level, which can be quite daunting when you are at the peak. You might want to sit this one out if you have a fear of heights.
Your experience will begin once you are safely strapped into your seat on the open-air gondola. The gondola will then rise slowly to the top where it will rotate gently to provide you with a 360-degree view of Sentosa. Whether youâre riding the gondola during the day or night, youâre bound to be gifted with a memorable view. You can also purchase snacks and drinks to bring along with you on your ride. The entire ride will last about 12 minutes.

You can even audition to become a leading celeb yourself! With the Ultimate Film Experience, you can act, dance and perform alongside stars of Indian Cinema like Sridevi, Karan Johar and Shahid Kapoor. If that did not get your heart pumping fast enough, the Marvel Universe 4D will do the trick. Featuring Marvel superheroes like Thor, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Ant-Man, the short film will transport you right into the heart of the action with 4D effects. Adrenaline junkies can also have a go at the VR Racing Experience. You will get to board a full-sized Formula 1 replica and race against the best. The VR Racing Experience is not part of the ticket, so you will have to add-on to your ticket or pay for it separately.
In addition to posing with the stars and fighting alongside heroes, you can also explore Singaporeâs history at the wax museum. Through pictures and wax figure showcases, the Images of Singapore exhibit brings you across Singaporeâs development from a fishing village to a flourishing country and portrays how the residents lived in the different eras. Be ready to get wacky with your poses at Trickeye @ Southside. Home to an array of 3D optical illusions and interactive Augmented Reality (AR) technology, the museum allows you to become a part of its artworks. Trickeye @ Southside has four themed zones for you to explore. There is the Eco Garden where you will find nature-themed displays and the Rainbow Garden which features an assortment of whimsical installations. The AR Trickeye and the Aqua Trickeye zones both use augmented reality to bring fantastical moments to life. You will get to swim with the fishes, surf with the sharks, slay a fire-breathing dragon, escape the jaws of a dinosaur and more! Located at Resorts World Sentosa, the Dolphin Island offers four engaging programs through which you can learn more about bottleneck dolphins. Learn about the habitats, diets, anatomies, and migration patterns of these friendly mammals from their trainers. You can also get up close and take pictures with the dolphins.

Wander into an underwater world at the S.E.A. Aquarium, home to more than 100, 000 marine life from over 1000 species. The aquarium is divided into seven themed zones inhabited by a diverse group of sea creatures. Spot the Moon Sea Jelly at Ocean Diversity, the Scalloped Hammerhead Shark at the Apex Predators of the Sea, the Bowmouth Guitarfish at Shipwrecked!, and other fascinating sea creatures.
The Open Ocean Habitat where you can watch manta rays glide above you at Ocean Dome has to be the highlight of the aquarium. Not only do you get to marvel at the colourful marine life swimming in the huge tanks but you also get to learn about them and their habitats at the S.E.A. Aquarium.

Wings of Time is a night show that takes place every day under the starry sky. It has everything: a cute story featuring a prehistoric bird, an upbeat soundtrack, colourful light projections, cool fire bursts, impressive water effects and fireworks that light up the night sky. All the elements come together to present a magical display that is sure to enchant both kids and adults alike. The entire show lasts about 20 minutes.

You will find Ola Beach Club at Siloso Beach, just a stoneâs throw away from Central Beach Bazaar. Despite its unassuming appearance, Ola Beach Club is not your regular beach club. This lifestyle venue offers high-energy watersport sessions like jet blading, banana boating and donut rides. You can also go stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking to explore the waters. While the older kids are bobbing along in the sea, little ones can go for a refreshing dip at the clubâs swimming pool. When you have worked up an appetite, you can have a feast of Hawaiian-inspired dishes. On the clubâs menu are fares like Ahi Poke Bowl, Loco Moco, Kalua Pulled Pork and Tiki drinks. Children below 12 years old get their own menu consisting of dishes like Moo Burger and Kidâs Pasta.

Located at Palawan Beach, HydroDash is an obstacle course made up of a series of inflatables that you can scale, slide down, balance on, leap off from and bounce on. The water playground has four sections, each with different levels of difficulty. Zone 1 is exclusively designed for children ages 5 to 6 years though they must be supervised by their parent or guardian. Zones 2 to 4 are suitable for children 7 years old and above and at least 1.1m or taller. Kids below 5 years old or under 1.0m are not permitted on HydroDash.

Escape the sunrays for a rejuvenating dip in the cool waters at Adventure Cove Waterpark. Bob along with the waves at the Bluwater Bay or stretch your legs in your cabana while your mini-me dodges squirting seahorses in the wading pool at Seahorse Hideaway. Little ones will love exploring the climbing nets, slides, water sprays, and play structure over at the Big Bucket Treehouse while the older kids and adults may find the thrill rides more exciting. You can choose from six available rides, including Pipeline Plunge which will twist and turn before dunking you into the pool, and Riptide Rocket, one of the more heart-pounding rides in the park. Imagine a roller coaster ride adapted for the water.
To get your heartbeat back to normal, grab a float and take a relaxing ride down Adventure River. The route will take you past enchanting habitats, including a jungle garden, a grotto cave and an underwater tunnel where you can watch colourful marine life swimming gracefully all around you.
Head over to Rainbow Reef to get even closer to the vibrant coloured fishes. The man-made reef allows you to go snorkelling amidst the 20,000 reef inhabitants. If you add a Ray Bay Encounter to your Adventure Cove ticket, you can also wade alongside dozens of rays, feeling their velvety wings graze you as they glide past you!
Skyline Luge Singapore

Hop on the Skyride and travel leisurely across the sky while enjoying an aerial view of the island. The ride lasts about 8 minutes, so you have plenty of time to take in the view of the verdant trees, the South China Sea and the city skyline. Kids have to be at least 85cm tall to ride with an adult while children taller than 135cm can ride alone on the chairlift.
You can then kick things up a notch with a Skyline Luge ride. Take your pick from four different tracks - Kupu Kupu Trail, Expedition Trail, Jungle Trail, and Dragon Trail. Built with twists and turns, tunnels and long straights, youâre sure to experience an adrenaline rush at the end of your ride.

On Friday and Saturday nights, Skyline Luge offers a different kind of Luge experience. You will get to navigate the same curves and ride past the same trees but this time it will be under the night sky on tracks aglow with bright lights.
You donât have to be a skilled rider to manoeuvre the Luge but children have to be 6 years old and at least 110cm or taller to Luge alone. Kids under 6 years old can ride tandem with an adult.
You can either ride on the Skyride to the top and Luge down or Luge down the tracks and then board the Skyride to the top.

Imagine leaping off an aircraft 1000s of feet up in the air into the open skies and feeling the wind blasting against your body as you hurtle down to the ground. Skydiving is an exhilarating sport but it can be costly and risky. Now imagine the same adrenaline boost of flying in the air but without the extravagant costs and potential risks; that is what an experience at iFly Singapore is like. Under the guidance of a professional instructor, you will be skydiving inside an 18-feet tall wind tunnel. Each skydive lasts about 45 seconds. The entire experience will last about 1.5 hours including a safety briefing, preparatory training and gearing up.
Participants have to be 7 years old and above for the indoor skydiving experience. You should also weigh less than 120kg if youâre under 1.8m and should not weigh more than 140kg if youâre taller than 1.8m.

SkyPark Sentosa by AJ Hackett is the only place in Singapore where you can attempt bungee jumping. Whether youâre a first-time thrill-seeker or a seasoned thrill enthusiast, leaping off from a tower 50 metres high is bound to be a memorable experience. While there are no age restrictions for this activity, jumpers have to be at least 120cm tall. Solo jumpers must weigh at least 45kg and no more than 150kg.
You can also get on a giant swing, which will hurtle you from 40 metres up in the air towards Siloso Beach at almost 120km/h. To get on the Giant Swing, you have to be 120cm or taller and children have to weigh at least 30kg. More details on the weight restrictions can be found on the website.
For a less heart-pounding activity, there is the Skybridge, a 40m walkway with see-through sections.
Mega Adventure Park

Adventurers have a choice of three different experiences at Mega Adventure Park. With the bungee trampolines at MegaBounce, you can even reach for the skies. Adults can fly up to 8 metres high while little ones will experience a lighter bounce. Participants must weigh at least 10kg for the MegaBounce.
The highlight at Mega Adventure Park has got to be the MegaZip. The 450m zipline extends past the Imbiah Hill Jungle, over the waters to Siloso Beach. Whizzing through at the speed of 60kph, youâre sure to get an adrenaline boost. The MegaZip is open for all to experience, including little ones. Children under 30kg will fly tandem with their parents.
For something more challenging, you can conquer MegaClimb with your family. A tree-top obstacle course, MegaClimb has three different levels of difficulty and each level will bring you higher up into the air. While the activity does not have an age restriction, you have to be over 1.2m in height and 30kg in weight. Kiddos below 8 years old or 1.2m in height, can instead attempt MegaKids. The low-level obstacle course is a great way for toddlers to build up their self-esteem.

One of the first things that come to mind when you think of Sentosa has got to be Universal Studios Singapore (USS). Teeming with stimulating rides, interactive shows and attractive sights, it is no wonder the theme park is hugely popular. Find your adrenaline rush with rides like Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON, Revenge of the Mummy and Enchanted Airways. With gentler rides like the Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, Treasure Hunters and Dino-Soarinâ, little ones will not be left out of the fun either. In addition to the themed rides and immersive shows, you can also meet your favourite characters from movies and series like Despicable Me, Shrek and Sesame Street!
There are also plenty of gift stores where you can purchase themed merchandise to bring home as a keepsake. In between all the playing and shopping, you can refuel at one of the many snack bars and restaurants within the premise, like Planet Yen, Louiâs NY Pizza Parlor, Oasis Spice Cafe and Melâs Drive-in.

Sentosa 4D AdventureLand offers four different rides that will allow you to experience the different aspects of 4D technology. Your experience comes complete with physical effects such as seat vibrations, wind and rain on your face. Get transported into the heart of the action with Journey 2: The Mysterious Island or engage in a shoot-out in Desperados, which is set in the Wild West. Navigate through twists and turns on the simulated Haunted Mine Ride or embark on an Extreme Log Ride across Himalazon, a fantasy land.

A playground of Virtual Reality (VR) games, HeadRock VR takes your gaming experience to the next level. If you ever imagined what it would be like to survive a zombie apocalypse, here is your chance to experience it.
HeadRock VR has two play zones. The VR Play Zone has eight simulator rides and interactive games, including Zombie Busters, rafting through rapids trying to escape from a T-rex and Jump Jump, where you can live out your fantasy of jumping through the jungle like Tarzan. Participants must be taller than 110cm to play. Children are not left out of the fun though as they can explore the Kids Media Interactive Zone, a play area that has blended physical play and digital technology. The childrenâs play area has four dinosaur-themed sections and is suitable for children ages 3 to 9 years.
Nestopia

Nestopia is an open-air playground featuring challenging netted obstacle courses that are connected to three dome-shaped structures, also known as ânestsâ. The playground also boasts two of the longest slides on Sentosa. If your little ones have boundless energy and love a good challenge, set them loose at Nestopia and watch them work up a sweat running, climbing and crawling.
This outdoor playground is suitable for children ages 5 years old and above. Advance booking is required and you can register a slot via email (nestopia.sen@shangri-la.com) or call (+65 6371 1067).

You will never go hungry at Sentosa; no matter where you find yourself on the island, there is bound to be a restaurant nearby. At Siloso Beach, there is Coastes, a casual diner with laid-back vibes. - By Foot: From VivoCity Lobby F, Level 1, make your way to the Sentosa Boardwalk, which will lead you into Sentosa.
- By MRT: From Harbourfront Station make your way to VivoCity, Lobby L, Level 3, where you can board the Sentosa Express (7am - 12am).

- By Public Bus: 123, RWS8
- By Cable Car (8.45am - 8.30am): Singapore Cable Car Station (Harbourfront Tower II)
