National Library Board To Resume More Services From 20 Oct 2020

The National Library Building, 25 public libraries and Oldham Theatre in the National Archives of Singapore Building will resume more services from Tuesday, 20 October 2020, with safe management measures in place.

From 20 October 2020, you may once again return to the National Library Builing and the public libraries to read, study and work. 

Seating and study areas in the public libraries, including eNewspaper and multimedia stations will be opening up with a timed entry system and safe distancing measures still in place.

Public programmes will gradually resume, with the exception of guided tours. Patrons can check NLB’s GoLibrary for details of the resumption of our programmes.

Duration Of Stay Extended

The duration of stay in the premises for each patron will be increased from the existing 30 mins. Visitors to the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library and regional libraries (in Jurong, Tampines and Woodlands) will have up to 3 hours, and 2 hours for visitors to all other public libraries.

The Study Lounge at Level 5 of the National Library Building will have a 3-hour limit per visit. Timed entry system will continue to manage capacity controls. Visitors are encouraged to make online bookings for their preferred slots.

Safe Distancing Measures

Safe distancing measures, capacity controls and frequent disinfection of high touch points will continue to be implemented in all our premises. With programmes resuming, additional cleaning, sanitisation and ventilation of programme areas will also be carried out between sessions.

In view of the capacity restrictions, visitors may have to queue and wait before they can enter our premises. Do check for real-time crowd capacity before visiting.
