Here’s a look at 5 of the festivals happening in Singapore this month!

1. Pongal (Harvest Festival)

Pongal is a traditional Indian harvest festival that falls in Thai, the tenth month in the Indian calendar. During the four-day-long festival, people discard their old possessions, make offerings to the Sun God, honor the cows for providing dairy products, fertilizer, transportation, and aid in agriculture works, and strengthen bonds between friends and family.

River Hongbao is an annual affair held in celebration of the Lunar New Year. The highlight of the extravagant celebration which will be packed with live performances, interactive exhibits, fringe activities and carnival games to keep your whole family entertained, has got to be the larger-than-life lanterns and the fireworks displays.
