Built in 1855 with more than 167 years of heritage, the Raffles Lighthouse is the second oldest among the five lighthouses maintained by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.

Venue: Pulau Satumu
Dates: Every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
Price: $58.85

Explore a working lighthouse on a remote island with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) Raffles Lighthouse tour happening on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month. This is a rare opportunity to catch a sneak peak into the workings of one of the oldest Lighthouses in Singapore.

Raffles Lighthouse

Standing tall at about 29m and with 167 years of heritage, the Raffles Lighthouse is currently still in use and is located along the Strait of Singapore. It is at the southern-most point of Singapore and marks the turning point for vessels travelling along the busy navigational channel in the Strait of Singapore.

Raffles Lighthouse is still well-preserved with a pristine white exterior, a glass-panelled dome and century-old brass fittings. Visitors to the lighthouse can check out the maritime artefacts, such as lanterns and wind gauges used in the 1970s, in a small museum that was once the generator room.

Tour Details

The Raffles Lighthouse Tour starts from Marina South Pier where participants will board a ferry, passing by southern islands such as St John’s Island, Kusu Island, Pulau Bukom, Pulau Sebarok and Pulau Semakau before disembarking at Pulau Satumu to visit the Raffles Lighthouse.

Participants will also be able to climb 88 steps up to the 29 metre-tall lighthouse for a panoramic view of the vast open sea and visit the museum to learn more about the history of lighthouse’s operations.
