The March school holidays starts this weekend, so here's to making plans for more family fun times!

The week-long March school holidays starts from 12 to 20 Mar 2022. There will be 9 full days where you will have the opportunity to create fun family times. Below are our top 5 family fun ideas for this week, but if you need more ideas, do head over to our March Holiday micro-site where we share more events, experiences, holiday camps and more!

Let's take a look at 5 of our top picks for this week!

Visit Sentosa For Fun Times!

One of the most popular attractions in Singapore, a trip to Sentosa is not to be missed during the school holidays. From curated heritage and nature tours to a special Photo-hunt contest (with cash prizes to be won), there will be so much to do on the island!

Other things to do on the island include a visit to the beach (don't forget to make a booking if you are visiting on a weekend), or drop by the latest attraction, the Skyhelix, on the island too! If you prefer something less scary (but just as exciting), you may wish to make a visit to HeadRock VR for AR/VR games for the family - there's even a new kids zone for the younger ones!

Definitely do not miss eating by the beach too! There are a number of beach facing F&B options to choose from, this includes Coastes (the key image above), Ola Beach Club and more along Siloso Beach! Or book your meal at the newly opened Southside Interim Market for a chill alfresco experience!

Catch Live Family Performances And More At March On 2022

Venue: Esplanade
Dates: 9 - 13 Mar 2022
Admission: Both ticketed and free experiences

Esplanade will be organising a series of over 20 experiences for families as part of its annual March On festival. The festival aims to explores relevant issues for the young through different art experiences, and in this edition, you and your little ones can explore, discuss and share about the topic of bullying at the various programmes and activities organised at Esplanade.

Beyond the discussion of bullying, there is a wide variety of programmes suitable for families looking to spend time together and to be back at the Esplanade to experience the LIVE family performances. Some of our recommended experiences include

  • I Have Something To Say: a theatre performance that uses music, movement, and multimedia to help children explore the topic of bullying in a safe space. Follow 8 year old Zack as he navigates his encounter with a bully and to confront his fears.
  • Sang Nila Has Arrived!: a creative movement workshop where participants will experience the characters from the Sang Nila Utama story through dance!
  • Magic Circus - Monster Hunt!: this is a self-guided activity where families will use their smartphones and go around the Esplanade to solve clues, overcome obstacles and capture the monsters!
  • (Work-in-progress) PLAYtime! Together: the PLAYtime! series is popular for families with young kids. In this performance, children will join  Gor Gor and Mei Mei who are stuck at home and bored - they can't go out, Mummy is swarmed with online meetings, and nothing to do! Sounds familiar?
  • The Night We Couldn't Sleep: head to the Outdoor Theatre in the evenings to enjoy this musical performance where the performers will use a series of fun familiar songs, to find courage to be kind, unique and to dream BIG!

Visit the New Therapeutic Park @ Bedok Reservoir Park

Venue: Bedok Resevoir Park, Carpark B

The 1,650sqm Therapeutic Garden @ Bedok Reservoir Park overlooks the scenic Bedok Reservoir and is the first therapeutic garden to be built over a former sand quarry. To reflect its heritage, the garden is designed with stones and boulders incorporated into the garden’s features and amenities.

One of the key features of the garden is the Interactive Rock Garden for visitors to try their hands on balancing rocks. The practice is to help you better concentrate in the moment and is meant to be therapeutic. You don't even have to search for rocks as it is provided in four different sizes and types, giving you the opportunity to explore different ways of creating your rock formation.

Shall we start a photo challenge to see who has the tallest / most creative rock formation? If you already have a picture of yours, share it with us in the BYKidO Community Forum!
