Here's a list of weekly family fun events and experiences for you to create family fun this week! 

Here's our weekly list of family fun to-dos to help you create lots of fun times with the kids! As we approach Chinese New Year this weekend (and the long weekend), let us share a couple of exciting CNY-themed events as well as new openings this week for families to enjoy too! From a new playground to a new Harry Potter experience, let's create more family fun together!

1. Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience

Venue: Coastal Trail, Sentosa
Date: from 3 Feb 2024; 7:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m. (last entry at 10:15 p.m.)
Duration: 45 to 60 minutes (the walking trail will take approx. 30 to 45 minutes)
Fee: from $39 (Tickets available here)

Following a massively successful run in the US and the UK, Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience has finally made its Asia-Pacific debut in Sentosa, Singapore.

Located on the island of Sentosa, Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience is an outdoor trailed lined with interactive elements inspired by the iconic Fordidden Forest, and features creatures from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series and mesmerising lights that transform the landscape into a magical outdoor trail.

This is an outdoor trail that takes place in the evenings, so the weather is relatively cooling but do make sure to wear proper shoes and insect repellent is highly recommended too! 

2. New Playground - Yooland at Westgate

Venue: Westgate, Level 3
Opening Hours: TBC
Admission: from $25 (subject to changes)

Located at Level 3 of Westgate is a new indoor playground, Yooland! The playground features a futuristic design with LED slides mixed with a pastel pink and white tone. The playground promises lots of space for kids to run around with 2 decks of play space! 

Inside the playground, you will also find a massive ball pit with several exciting play elements and LED lights to give the entire playground a futuristic and exciting feel! There will also be a trampoline with AR games, tech-enabled pretend play corners (as well as traditional ones) and more! 

Do look out for an exclusive promotion available on the BYKidO SHOP with additional play time for weekday tickets! Valid for a limited number of tickets only! 

3. Glue:Curiocity Showcases

Venue: Jurong Regional Library & library@harbourfront
Date: now to 28 Mar 2024
Admission: Free

Explore and discover hidden gems of history, stories, and even good eats of Jurong and Harbourfront with Glue: Curiocity. Through this new interactive tech prototype, users can discover more about the places they live, work or play in, as it draws from the rich resources of the National Library and National Archives of Singapore. 

The Glue:Curiocity showcases will be at Jurong Regional Library and library@harbourfront till 28 March 2024, where patrons can explore the rich heritage of Jurong and Harbourfront! So come explore location-specific content and learn about places of interest on the interactive maps - and even discover great eats in the area too! 

 

4. River Hongbao 2024

Venue: Gardens by the Bay
Dates: 8 - 17 Feb 2024
Admission: Free

Enjoy an enchanting Chinese New Year experience at Gardens by the Bay with the delightful mascots Xiaohe (晓河) and Dragon 'Wei Long' (伟龙) from River Hongbao! Immerse yourself in the festive ambience featuring massive glowing lanterns, captivating stage performances and relish carnival games. 

You can also explore the vibrant food street and traditional lantern riddles & trade booths, as well as a special exhibition showcasing the history and development of Chinese New Year markets in Singapore.

Don’t miss the dazzling firecrackers show happening this weekend that comprises of firecrackers as long as 18 meters in length.

5. The Legend of the Dragon Gate - Drone Performance

Venue: Marina Bay
Dates: 10, 11, 12, 16, 17 and 18 Feb 2024, 8 pm
Admission: Free

*show on 6 Feb has been cancelled. A new show date has been added on 12 Feb. 

Chinese New Year 2024 is set to be a dazzling celebration as it welcomes the auspicious Year of the Dragon. To mark this special occasion, Marina Bay will host an extraordinary dragon-themed drone show titled "The Legend of the Dragon Gate" on six magical nights in February 2024.

The captivating 10-minute performance unfolds the mythical tale of the Dragon King, a revered figure from Chinese mythology. A fleet of 1,500 drones will illuminate the Marina Bay night sky, creating a mesmerizing display that promises to leave spectators in awe.
