Here's a list of weekly family fun events and experiences for you to create family fun this week!

Here's our weekly list of family fun to-dos to help you create lots of fun times with the kids! There will be a drone show over the skies of Clarke Quay, an evening Jazz performance at the Botanic Gardens, cultural activities spanning across Chinatown, Hari Raya and more family fun ideas! So read on and get ready to head out for more family fun!

1. Drone Show at CQ @ Clarke Quay

Venue: CQ @ Clarke Quay 
Dates: 26 April 2024, 6 pm onwards
Admission: Free

After months of rejuvenation and transformation works, CQ @ Clarke Quay welcomes all to join in its official reopening festivities on 26 April.

Expect a stunning drone show display featuring the Fire Fish at 9 pm, an urban legend and mural brought to life by local artists Yip Yew Chong and tobyato. The Fire Fish will lead us on a visual journey through CQ’s rich history, from its maritime roots to the bustling lifestyle destination that it is today.

Throughout the night you’ll experience exciting live performances - from LED Tron Dancers to LED Lion Dances, as well as art displays by Mirror Duo. Zouk’s resident DJs,  Ghetto and Caden, and local acoustic band, Cold Cut Duo, will take the stage as well.

As you wander around our beloved riverside lifestyle destination, uncover three new zones - the Warehouses, Circuit, and Riverfront - each with refreshed retail and lifestyle, entertainment, globally-inspired dining options, and pet-friendly amenities.

2. A Jazz Evening at Jazz au Jardin

Venue: Singapore Botanic Gardens (Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage)
Date: 28 Apr 2024, 5.30pm 
Fee: Free Admission

The Jazz Association (Singapore) celebrates the International Jazz Day in conjunction with vOilah! France Singapore Festival. Come down to the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage in the lush setting of the Singapore Botanic Gardens for an afternoon of music with your friends and family.

Featuring the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra (JASSO), led by Jeremy Monteiro, Executive Director and Music Director of JASS, alongside Chok Kerong, Associate Music Director of JASS, the performance promises an electrifying showcase of classic jazz repertoire. Adding to the international flavour are acclaimed French musicians, trumpeter Nicolas Folmer and saxophonist Sylvain Beuf, ensuring a collaborative and vibrant celebration of both the International Jazz Day 2024 and vOilah! 2024.

3. Rivervale Shores Playgrounds with Flying Birds Nests and More

Venue: 172A, 173C and 175A Sengkang East Drive Singapore 541172
Opening Hours: 24 hours
Admission: Free

Located within the new HDB BTO housing estate at Sengkang East Drive, families will be excited to know that there are 3 different adventure playgrounds at the Rivervale Shores Playgrounds that is suitable for young kids from 2 years old up to 12 and above!

This includes the Flying Bird Playground with 3 colourful "Bird Nest" at Blk 172A with lots of climbing and play options for kids, and another at Blk 173C that is more suitable for younger ones with lower obstacles and musical instruments for more sensorial play. 

The last playground is located at Blk 175A and it even overlooks the waterway, making it a great spot for a family day out. However, this playground is not open yet, but from what we saw, it is probably opening soon! 

4. Furs & Feathers Festival at PAssion Wave @ Sembawang

Venue: PAssion Wave @ Sembawang
Date: 27 Apr 2024, 3pm to 9pm
Fee: $5 per pax (inclusive of a goodie bag)

Furs & Feathers Festival is back on 27 April 2024, 3pm to 9pm at PAssion Wave @ Sembawang, and this time with a special movie screening by the sea!

Families, especially those with pets will get to enjoy over 20 booths featuring various vendors, participate in workshops, visit the bird interaction zone, and conclude the day with a screening of ‘Marley and Me: The Puppy Years’.

Tickets are priced at $5 per pax. Each ticket is entitled to 1x goodie bag redemption. The first 100-paying participants are entitled to an exclusive goodie bag and a chance to compete in Temptation Trail, Fastest-Eating Dog Competition, and win attractive prizes!

5. Discover Hidden Gems at the Pagoda Street Treasures Market

Venue: Pagoda Street, Chinatown
Dates: 2pm to 9pm (26 April)10am to 10pm (27 & 28 April)
Admission: Free 

Ready for treasures findings? Join the upcoming Pagoda Street Treasures Market for various picks including pre-loved clothing, soft toys, jewellery, and more! Don't miss out on the exciting lion dance and singing performances while you shop too! 

With Love, Jade will be showcasing their exquisite jade collection, ranging from bangles, bracelets, earrings and cabochons, while you can get your hands on some traditional Indian clothing and jewellery from Unique Fashions. Vacino Design has lined up a collection of unique and interesting products such as energy perfume and candles to enhance your wellness with the benefits of natural essential oils. If you are looking for some cute and vintage-looking homewares, Sanhao Home Collections has carefully curated a selection of new and pre-owned products to spice up your home. Get ready for good old vintage thrifting and see if you could pick up a rare find from the stash by megscrategtg.vtg and Local Thrift SG!

6. Take Part in Hari Raya Celebrations at the AidilFEASTri Raya Festival 2024

Venue: Indian Heritage Centre
Dates: 27 & 28 Apr 2024
Admission: Free with paid workshops

AidilFEASTri Raya Festival 2024 will be held at the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) from 27 to 28 April 2024 for the first time!

Centred around the theme of food, this year’s iteration will serve up a buffet of programmes, activities and displays highlighting the culinary traditions and intangible cultural heritage practices related to Hari Raya.

Programme highlights include larger-than-life food replicas of iconic Hari Raya dishes such as mutton biryani, sayur lodeh, and assorted kuih, cultural performances across both days, a cooking demonstration with MasterChef Singapore finalist Chef Ilya Nur Fadhly and a Teh Tarik-making workshop by Tarik.SG!
