Seeking family fun for the little ones? Check out our list of to-dos for families this week!

Sometimes, we just love to gaze into the sky and wonder what our lives will be without kids... and we realise that it is not possible to "stuff" them back, so we do the next best thing - try to find activities and programmes to keep them occupied!

This week's list will let you gaze into the skies in the day and in the nights, and to also gaze into what the future might hold in terms of tech and sustainability too! Not sure what we mean? Read on to find out more

As always, this is just a compilation of our weekly 5 ideas, if you need more ideas for family fun, do head over to our weekly updated list of weekly recommendations or join our Telegram group for the most up-to-date sharing too!

1. Catch the Rare Hybrid Solar Eclipse at the Science Centre Singapore

Venue: Science Centre Singapore
Dates: 20 Apr 2023
Admission: Tickets to Science Centre Singapore required

On 20th April, a rare hybrid solar eclipse will be visible in Singapore. In this rare type of solar eclipse, some places will observe a total solar eclipse while some will observe an annular solar eclipse. This is due to the Moon's orbit and Earth's curvature during the eclipse.

Science Centre Singapore will also host a viewing session at the Ecogarden with telescopes set out offering a safe and magnified view of the eclipse. A livestream of the eclipse will also be available via Science Centre Singapore’s YouTube channel

Admission charges apply (telescope viewing is complimentary with a Science Centre admission ticket).

2. Stargazing at Science Centre Observatory

Location: Singapore Science Centre Observatory | 21 Jurong Town Hall Rd, Singapore 609433
Hour: 7 pm - 10 pm on selected days

If you prefer looking into the night skies, why not make a trip to the Science Centre Observatory to take part in the stargazing programmes organised? While there are no programmes this week, the next session is 28 Apr 2023, slots are snapped up very quickly so we suggest booking early!

Z and B are quite alike, but Z wonders why he can't be perfect while B is confident about who she is. Journey with Z and B in a theatrical dance performance and discover the joys of celebrating and loving all the wonderfully special parts of your unique selves.

This dance performance may include the occasional use of text. There will also be move-along moments which children can choose to participate in, with the support of their accompanying adults.

Note that audiences will be seated on the floor and tickets are required for everyone, including infant-in-arms.
