This initiative is part of Tampines Town’s five-year master plan (2021 – 2025) of building an inclusive, sustainable and green town with eco-friendly programmes and amenities for everyone to enjoy. These are part of the vision to help transform Tampines into Singapore’s first Eco-Town by 2025.

This year, Tampines Town is focused on sustainable food sources and residents can look forward to being part of some of the farming initiatives that include the pilot hydroponics programme, rooftop gardens and vertical gardens in the community.

Alongside the launch, OTH will also be organising a series of learning journey tours for residents, together with lots of fun activities for young families!

TAMPINES 3065 Festival

Venue: OTH

OTH will be celebrating the Year of SG Families with the launch of its science fiction themed TAMPINES 3065 Festival. The 16-day festival will see OTH transformed into a futuristic home where children and families can re-kindle their joy of learning, discovery and dreaming.

OTH will be partnering with artists, creatives, residents and partners to bring facts and fantasies to life, using the Hub as a platform to explore arts, community, heritage, culture, innovation, wellness, sports and creativity. One of the highlights of the festival is the larger-than-life inflatable installations which are inspired by the creative designs from young residents. Families and residents will be blown away by these fantastical installations located at the Town Square and Festive Walk East.

In addition, there will also be daily art and wellness workshops, fitness dance-off programmes, story-telling, makers market and music events that will take place in the Town Square during the June school holidays. These programmes are part of OTH’s partnership with the National Library Board, National Heritage Board, National Arts Council and ActiveSG. On weekends, there will also be sci-fi movie marathon screenings and a series of art & craft activities which all families can enjoy.

For young adults and teenagers who have always wanted to be a Jedi in the Star Wars movies, they will enjoy taking part in the sci-fi inspired workouts like OTH Lightsabre Workouts and OTH Pound Workouts (using lighted drumsticks).

Through OTH’s engagement with several schools in Tampines, families can also look out for specially curated science-meets-art Space Station Exhibition. The participating schools include the Aesthetic Clubs and Science Clubs at Junyuan Secondary School, Ngee Ann Secondary School, Pasir Ris Secondary School, St Hilda’s Secondary School and Dunman Secondary School.

Our Tampines Hub: Building a Community of Volunteers Who Care

In addition, OTH actively seeks passionate volunteers who want to make a difference and are willing to give back to the community. OTH volunteers love working with people and are inspired to serve the community.

OTH Ambassadors engage hub visitors through various events and activities, while OTH Eco-Warriors conduct weekend tours for the public to visit the Eco-Community Garden.

The Hub is also home of the Tampines Kindness Movement (TKM). This movement seeks to connect individuals for a more caring and kinder Tampines, throughout small acts of kindness to our family, neighbours and the environment. Beely, who is the humble bee TKM ambassador that plays the role of spreading kindness, is no stranger to residents.
