Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) launches its marquee event Cultural Extravaganza. Notable local art groups like Bhaskar's Arts Academy, Nine Years Theatre, T.H.E Dance Company, TENG Ensemble, Jazz Association (Singapore), Ding Yi Music Company, and PLAYInc will be joining this year’s festival lineup.

Families will find 14 digital and on-site programmes over 38 days, ranging from musicals, concerts, interactive exhibitions, and dance productions! We especially excited about Jazz It Up!, featuring jazzy renditions of well-loved Chinese evergreens and modern-classic songs, and Butterfly Lovers, a re-imagined version of the popular Chinese folktale with Indian dance elements. 

Visit A Ramadan Bazaar, Pasar Malam and Carnival!

With the relaxation of SMMs, we have compiled a list of Ramadan Bazaars, Pop-up Markets and Pasar Malams across the island. If you are looking to reminisence the night markets, munching on street snacks and doing random shopping, you will want to visit a market near you! 

For those looking for fun, you may wish to consider the Pasar Malam at Woodlands MRT as it includes carnival booths and games too!

Unleash Your Creativity & Have Fun In An Art Jamming Session

Art is a useful medium to spur creativity, encourage imagination and even to bond with your children! This weekend, you may wish to consider going on an art exploration and to create art as a family! If you need help, here's a list of 12 Art Jamming Studios and Art Workshops suitable for families for your consideration!

Go On A Kayaking Adventure On The Waters

For those with older kids (7 years old and above), you may wish to go on an adventure on the waters by going kayaking! This water sport is great to get some sun, exercise and with only 2 of you on the kayak - there will be lots of bonding opportunity too!

Go On A Hike With The Kids

If going into the water is not for you, why not consider a hike with the kids? There are many parks and nature venues for families to visit, and if you need help, you can refer to our list of hiking trails suitable for families. These trails are suitable for younger kids and definitely a way to take older kids off their devices too!

Remember to bring along enough water, have insect repellent and a back-up plan in case of bad weather too!
