Quite possibly the best exhibit in Singapore, the interactive exhibit is created in collaboration teamLab. Future World is a digital playground for families and bring visitors into a world of art, science, and magic through a collection of digital interactive installations.

Not exactly located at the ArtScience Museum, the immersive digital art installation, Digital Light Canvas is located next to the museum at The Shoppes, Marina Bay Sands. This massive installation is presented in collaboration with teamLab, the Japanese collective behind Future World: Where Art Meets Science at ArtScience Museum.
A new edition of the Digital Light Canvas was unveiled from 26 Nov 2022. In the latest installation, families can learn more about the ecosystem of endangered species such as the Siamese Crocodile, the Cave Racer Snake, Southern Torrent Frog, Borneo Birdwing Butterfly, and the Calypso Orchid, among others. So don't forget to check it out in your visit to the museum.

Asian Civilisations Museum

The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) houses a collection of artifacts exploring the different cultures and heritage of Asia. Over 13,000 artefacts are showcased across 11 galleries in this 14,000 sqm space. The museum runs age-appropriate workshops and tours as well as the “Let’s Learn About…” series for children that introduces a different topic each month. Changi Chapel & Museum

An iconic monument dedicated to the Prisoner of Wars (POWs) who endured the Japanese Occupation of Singapore in World War II, the Changi Chapel and Museum (CCM) reopened in May 2021. The newly transformed museum will shed light on the riveting personal stories of prisoners of POWs and civilians interned in Changi prison camp during the Japanese Occupation.
The museum may not be a regular in hosting kids-friendly activities, but still presents a great spot for older children to better understand a part of Singapore’s history through the interactive displays and videos. The revamped venue is definitely more engaging for the kids and is also located conveniently around attractions in the East.
Changi Experience Studio

Located on the 4th floor of Jewel Changi Airport, the Changi Experience Studio offers a host of digital experiences that are engaging to both kids and adults alike. From the history of Changi to behind the scenes of its operations, you will get to immerse yourself in the world of Changi Airport through 20 interactive touchpoints scattered through the different content zones.
Highlights include the Amazing Runaway with a line-up of stationary bikes, which aims to mimic the 2009 Changi Airport Race between a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Boeing 747, the Sky Deck, designed like an airport control room, and the Arena, an interactive game zone with tasks such as collecting airport trolleys and spotting prohibited items in cabin bags.
Children's Museum Singapore

Opening in Dec 2022, the Children's Museum Singapore will be Singapore’s first dedicated children’s museum, which will serve as a ‘starter museum’ to introduce young visitors and their families to the museum-going experience, and to cultivate a love for museums and lifelong learning.
Civil Defence Heritage Gallery
Venue: 62 Hill St, Singapore 179367

Visit the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery to embark on a tour of the past and learn about the latest fire fighting and rescue technology developed and used by the SCDF. There are customised interactive stations for a close-up experience of what fire fighters and rescuers undergo in an operation.
On the 2nd level of the same building, the Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC) houses visual and interactive exhibits to impart emergency preparedness knowledge and skills to visitors. You can expect to learn more about the various tools, equipment, vehicles and know-hows that the SCDF deploys in its missions. Other exhibits include the fire extinguisher simulator which discharges water onto a video wall depicting a few incipient fire scenarios as well as interactive mannequins for visitors to try out the Heimlich manoeuvre and CPR procedure.

Not at Civil Defence Heritage Gallery, but at the venue, the Central Fire Station, families can visit on Saturdays and experience the Fire Station Open House! The open house happens at 17 fire stations islandwide and you will get to watch a fire-fighting demonstration, meet the firefighters and paramedics, touch and feel various equipment, board the fire engines and ambulance, and learn more on how SCDF responds to emergencies!
Admission is free and you can just walk in. Booking is only required if you are visiting in a group of 10 or more.
Former Ford Factory

The Former Ford Factory is a historic site where the British forces surrendered to the Imperial Japanese Army in 1942. In 2004, the site was handed over to the National Archives of Singapore (NAS), which opened a permanent exhibition at the site that retells the story of World War II in Singapore, the period of occupation and the aftermath through a collection of artefacts and records.
Gardens by the Bay

One of our favourite family friendly venues, Gardens by the Bay is not just one venue but a group of family-friendly venues including the SuperTree Grove (don’t forget to catch the light and music show, Garden Rhapsody), the Far East Organisation Children’s Garden, the conservatories as well as the various thematic exhibitions that happens throughout the year. A stone’s throw from Bayfront MRT station, Floral Fantasy offers a magical escape among suspended bouquets and creative floral arrangements. Here, explore diverse garden landscapes that segue into each other through a meandering space.
Floral Fantasy showcases more than 3,000 plants of more than 150 species, including some curious plants such as the 'Surfinia purple vein' petunia, which are amethyst blooms with a delicate lacework of vibrant purple veins tracing the centre and Fried Egg Tree, with glossy buds that bloom into white flowers with yellow stamens that resemble an egg cooked sunny-side-up!

Indian Heritage Centre

The Indian Heritage Centre traces the history of Indian and South Asian communities in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Exhibit – Indians In Singapore – Past & Present

Indians in Singapore: Past and Present feature five themes which are arranged chronologically to span 1st century CE to the 21st century. The galleries present, through artefact and interactive displays, the history of interactions between South and Southeast Asia, depict the experiences of the Indian community in both Singapore and Malaya during the colonial period, and highlight the contributions of the Indian and South Asian communities to Singapore’s nation-building efforts.
Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum

Even if you’ve not been to the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at the Kent Ridge Campus of the National University of Singapore, you probably have seen images of the huge dinosaurs’ fossils on display.
Not just dinosaurs, there are more than 2,000 natural history specimens on display in 15 different thematic zones. The display items range from plants and amphibians to mammals, and even includes a sperm whale that was salvaged from when it was found dead off Jurong Island in 2015.
Malay Heritage Centre

The Malay Heritage Centre or Istana Kampong Glam is the former home of the Sultanate of Singapore. There are 6 permanent galleries showcasing stories and artefacts from the Singapore’s national collection as well as contributions from the community. You won’t want to miss the Adventures In Nusantara, the centre’s dedicated space for children aged 3 to 6 years old.
The lawn at the Malay Heritage Centre is free for all to visit and often host exhibitions and activities for families. The open space is also great for kids to run around too.
MINT – Museum of Toys

Explore a collection of vintage toys and collectable items at the MINT - Museum of Toys, including vintage posters, confectionery tin boxes, advertising signs and more in an international award-winning contemporary building on 26 Seah Street. The toys and items hail from over 40 countries and range in date from the 1840s to 1980s. These are displayed across four thematic levels of the museum (Outerspace, Characters, Childhood Favourites and Collectables).
Museum of Ice Cream

The Museum of Ice Cream officially opened its doors to the public on 19 Aug 2021 at its first international location at Dempsey. Families will forge whimsical memories with 14 never-before-seen interactive installations, unlimited sweet treats, and exclusive merchandise designed in partnership with notable local brands. Definitely do not miss the Inflatable, a bright pink bouncy castle, and Sprinkle Pool, a pool filled with giant candy sprinkles! You will also get to enjoy unlimited ice cream at dedicated stations too!
National Gallery Singapore

Did you know that the National Gallery Singapore administers the world’s largest public collection of Singaporean and Southeast Asian modern art? Made up of the former Supreme Court Building and City Hall, the museum showcases a collection of over 8,000 artworks by prominent artists from around the world!
It hosts regular exhibits and activities targeted at families – including our all-time favourite, Keppel Centre for Art Education, a dedicated space for that caters for families and kids.

National Gallery Singapore reopens Keppel Centre for Art Education with an entirely refreshed space offering a world of wonder for children to learn about art through play. This popular space for families reopens from 16 Dec 2023 featuring new child-centric learning zones and activities that revolve around the theme of Art & Wonder: Nurturing Wonder through Play and Creativity.
The reopened Centre features an immersive learning space comprising seven zones, with stimulating and interactive experiences suitable for children aged 4 – 12. Each zone offers a welcoming and nurturing environment, providing a gateway through which children can be fully immersed in the wonderment of the world of art through play and creativity.

Set to spark conversations around the pressing issues of today, the 4th edition of the Children's Biennale returns to the National Gallery of Singapore from 27 May 2023 to 31 March 2025 and uses questions such as "what kind of world do we live in today, and what kind of world would you like to livein?" to craft its theme of ‘Let’s Make a Better Place’.
Families can explore 11 new artworks by international artists that spotlight four core values: Care, Collaborate, Imagine and Respect for free.
Festival - Light to Night 2024

Presented by National Gallery Singapore, Light to Night Singapore 2024 features a line-up of over 60 artworks and programmes spread across the Civic District. Working closely with cultural institutions and collaborators in the precinct, the visual arts festival is themed ‘Reimagine’, and promises a multitude of sensorial experiences inspired by history, origin, and artworks from the National Collection, and encourage audiences to engage, approach, and participate in art through fresh perspectives.
Families can expect interactive art installations, interdisciplinary programmes, mesmerising light projections, and live performances that will set the Civic District abuzz.

Exhibition - SportSG: 50 Years in Covers

Celebrate 50 years of sporting history with Sport Singapore at ‘SportSG: 50 Years in Covers’ at The Plaza, National Library Building. This sport heritage exhibition is a chance for Singaporeans to travel back in time to experience the past 50 years of Singapore’s sporting history and be captivated by the vibrant Singapore sports scene starting from the 60s!
The exhibition includes panel installations that pay homage to significant sporting milestones from the past five decades depicted through magazine covers. Images such as the opening of the National Stadium back in 1973, Ang Peng Siong’s celebration after becoming the world’s fastest 50m freestyle in 1982 and Southeast Asia’s discus king James Wong in his heyday in the 1990s are part of the collection of powerful images on display. In collaboration with the National Heritage Board, the exhibition will also display reprints of two valuable copies of The Sportsman Magazine, reproduced from originals housed in the National Museum of Singapore.
The exhibition panel installations made up of 320 magazine covers and publications with each magazine cover selected to capture the zeitgeist of the local sporting scene from the 1970s to current times!

With its history dating back to the 1800s, the National Museum of Singapore is the nation’s oldest museum and its collections showcase the city-state’s development through the years, the museum is an ideal place to introduce your little ones to the Singapore story – all the way back to 700 years ago!

Exhibit – The Glass Rotunda: Story of the Forest

Story of the Forest is an immersive visual installation that transforms 69 drawings from the William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings into three-dimensional animations. Visitors are invited to interact with the virtual animals, flowers, and plants up close.
Exhibit – Growing Up

This Growing Up gallery offers insight on the experiences of growing up in Singapore during the 1950s and 1960s through familiar social spaces where children would have spent most of their time. Through personal anecdotes and interactive installations, relive the gotong royong (Malay for “community”) spirit that laid the foundation of a multi-racial Singapore and girded its post-war generation as they forged their dreams and aspirations.

Now Boarding, Experiencing Singapore through Travel, 1800s–2000s offers perspectives about Singapore as a popular destination for travellers across two centuries, through the eyes of those who arrived at our shores from past to present.
Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s colonial past and its post-independence decades up to the present, it takes visitors through a specially curated selection of close to 600 material culture and visual icons ranging from postcards, posters and prints, to travel paraphernalia and everyday objects that explore the way Singapore has presented itself – and been presented – to the world over the years.
Exhibit: #DementiaFriendlySG Exhibition: Facing Dementia in Singapore

The #DementiaFriendlySG Exhibition: Facing Dementia in Singapore takes visitors through Singapore’s journey towards being a dementia-friendly nation and details the support available to persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
Visitors are invited to journey with Giffy the Giraffe, the mascot for the Dementia-Friendly Singapore initiative, to learn about dementia in Singapore through five themes: Facing Dementia; Understanding Dementia; Living with Dementia; Caring for Dementia; and Supporting Dementia. Visitors will experience familiar local settings — such as at home, in the train, and at a hawker centre — through the lens of a person living with dementia via interactive exhibits. The exhibition also shares ways of becoming a Dementia Friend, a role which everyone can play to contribute towards supporting those living with dementia.
To bring the topic of dementia closer to young Singaporeans and help them understand the role they can play, the exhibition features a “human library” of stories from persons living with dementia and their caregivers.
Exhibit - Plastics: Remaking Our World

Plastic: Remaking Our World is a travelling exhibition that charts the material’s meteoric rise in the 20th century, its environmental impact, and cutting-edge solutions for a more sustainable way of using plastics in our society.
Featuring over 300 objects, posters, films, and photographs, including rarities from the dawn of the plastic age, objects of the pop era as well as contemporary designs and projects, the exhibition also includes a local narrative of Singapore’s history with plastics, featuring a blend of physical and digital displays of National Collection items as well as an interactive space.
Families will also find an interactive space that tests your knowledge with the interactive info nuggets and Green Detective puzzles, and reflect on the pervasiveness of plastics in your own daily life.
Police Heritage Centre
Venue: 28 Irrawaddy Rd, Singapore 329560

The Police Heritage Centre (PHC) is located within the the Police Headquarters at New Phoenix Park. It is not open to the public, except by pre-booked tours that is suited for older children as part of their social studies of history curriculum.
However, the PHC is a regular participant of the annual Children's Season where they will host special tours for the younger kids. So do look out for more information around the end of the year.
Reflections at Bukit Chandu

Reflections at Bukit Chandu (RBC) tells the story of the Malay Regiment in the Battle of Pasir Panjang, during which the heavily outnumbered soldiers from the regiment made a heroic last stand against a 13,000-strong Japanese force. It also share the history of Singapore's involvement in the opium trade.
The museum sits within the trekking trails of the Southern Ridges and make for a great stop point.
Republic of Singapore Navy Museum

The Republic of Singapore Navy Museum is for those who like to learn more about the Singapore Navy - how it began, the challenges the early sailors went through and overcame.
Take a trip down memory lane as you view the fascinating components preserved from the early warships - learn more about the RSS Panglima, one of the Navy’s first ships with the 40mm Bofors main gun, wooden helms and the ship bell of RSS Panglima on display!
The young and the young at heart can try their hands at taking out simulated enemy targets with the Navy weapons, navigate a ship through the busy Singapore Strait, steer a submarine underwater, or get a glimpse of what it is like to be the commanding officer of a frigate.

The Singapore Art Museum’s physical venue is currently closed for redevelopment until 2026, but that doesn’t mean that the museum isn’t creating new content and events beyond the museum walls. In the meantime, you can refer to SAM's new space at Tanjong Pagar Distripark

Spanning two floors with over 3,000 square metres, SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark was first announced alongside SAM’s new strategic direction in 2021, signaling its shift away from the four walls of a museum as part of its plans to diffuse art into various parts of Singapore.

Modern day pandemic interventions did not arise overnight - the Going Viral exhibition at the Science Centre Singapore will let you learn more about the science journey that has enabled modern day pandemic interventions.
It seeks to raise awareness around pandemic management and interventions, and the complementary roles that STEM and communities play in curbing the spread of viruses. It will feature three themed zones presented through a range of interactive exhibits, including highlights such as artistic dioramas depicting familiar scenes from the pandemic, a gameshow-styled quiz station on the dangers of misinformation and a variety of multimedia games.

The Energy Story exhibition captures the story of how humankind has progressed off the back of energy discovery, and must now work towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. Through 6 different zones, kids will explore the sources, transformation, and uses of energy, from natural cycles to modern applications.

The Earth Alive exhibition will showcase the magnificent planet Earth in life-size interactive displays, for larger than life lessons about the world we live in. The exhibition invites guests to experience Earth’s wonders from the inside out, including how changes can manifest in the environment, causing phenomena such as earthquakes, tsunamis, mountain-building and rock strata, and volcanic eruptions.

The Air Force Museum

The Air Force Museum is located at the Paya Lebar Air Base and it gives visitors a look at the history, heritage, and values of the Republic of Singapore Air Force. It includes both an indoor and outdoor gallery that creatively combines original artefacts with interactive media. The museum provides families with an engaging hands-on experience so that they can better appreciate the RSAF story.
At the indoor gallery, children can hands-on the interactive displays and role-playing games. Head outdoors to be wow-ed by different fighter jets, missiles, and anti-aircraft systems, and uncover their stories and contributions to the RSAF’s growth.

A Good Hood: Where Values Come Home

Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC), Indian Heritage Centre and Malay Heritage Centre collaborate for the first time to jointly develop A Good Hood: Where Values Come Home travelling exhibition on 10 universal values. It showcases values such as loyalty, filial piety, kindness, righteousness, integrity, and perseverance which are shared across various ethnicities.
Designed with young families in mind, stories from Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures are infused into the exhibition’s narrative, showcasing the importance of these values through a dynamic fusion of storytelling and play. Visitors are treated to a meaningful cultural experience while embracing the essence of cherished values that transcend cultural boundaries.
