The National Library Board (NLB) has launched a children's book subscription service that allows subscribers to receive 8 curated books delivered to their doorsteps monthly!

NLB has launched The Little Book Box, a monthly subscription service that sends 8 curated English children's books to subscribers monthly.

Titles will include both fiction and non-fiction books. The books span a broad range of children’s interests and are catered for two age groups – from 4 to 6 years old and 7 to 9 years old.

Borrowed Not Bought

The books sent is considered borrowed and will be subjected to the usual overdue fines. Books have a loan duration of 21 days, excluding delivery time, and can be returned at any of the public libraries in Singapore.

Also, the books sent are not within the usual loan quota, that means subscribers will be able to borrow up to 16 books from the library! A way to add reading to the list of activities to do at home!

Subscription Details

The subscription will be available for registration from 2 Oct 2020, and will be priced at $10.70 (including GST) monthly. The pilot program will run from Nov 2020 till Jul 2021.

Subscription will be for a minimum of 3 months, and will be auto-renewed for 3 months unless cancelled.

Limited Slots

For this pilot service, NLB will only be accepting up to 1,000 subscribers on a first-come-first-served basis.

Depending on the reception and feedback to the pilot, NLB will decide whether to extend the service beyond Jul 2020 and to expand the scale.

What do you think? Will this be a great subscription for your family? Or maybe you prefer other Family Memberships that help you head out?
