For parents who have just started training their young ones how to fast, it is perfectly understandable how children will be tempted by the foods they see on TV and in the markets. It is not wrong to reward your child with their favourite meal for breaking of fast however you may want to consider setting a daily budget while going for Ramadan bazaars and restaurants to avoid wastage.

Use an expense tracking app like Wally to keep track of your spending after you and the kids head out to buy food for Iftar. For example set the budget at 30 when you go out to the bazaar. If it helps, you can also just bring 30 dollars in cash to avoid overspending.

In an ideal world one would try the best to avoid lavish and excessive iftar ceremonies and buffets however there’s no harm in a treat for you and the family once in a while. One way to cut excessive costs when purchasing all you can eat Ramadan buffet seats is by comparing different prices and meal options provided by various restaurants and hotels. For example, parents can make use of Eatigo to compare the best discounts and deals for the whole family’s Iftar meal.

3. Behave at Ramadan buffets

Everything has the tendency to look extremely delicious when you’re hungry and even more for the kids. Tame not only your inner glutton but also the kids by training each other to take small portions for iftar first and only add on after the meal is finished. Another idea would be to share small dishes among the family for everyone to have a taste instead of each having one big plate to himself as most times we often mistake wanting a taste as hunger.

Most restaurants and buffets have a policy that you should only take as much that you can eat while others even allow you to take away extra food which you can’t finish. That in mind, if you really cannot finish what you have ordered, ask to have the remainder of your meal packed and take it home. You can even heat it up for suhoor the next morning instead of putting it to waste.
