What is happening?

Playgrounds have evolved greatly from non-existent to dragon playgrounds and now to inclusive playgrounds. 

Come and witness with your little ones the progress of playgrounds unfold over the years through original blueprints and imagine the advancement hereafter at the National Museum of Singapore!

The More We Get Together: Singapore’s Playgrounds 1930 – 2030 incorporates immersive and interactive features to engage visitors of all ages. 

The museum has prepared a line-up of activities for you and your little ones in celebration of opening the exhibition as a part of the Singapore Heritage Festival!  

1. Tots’ Workshop with Matali Crasset

Location: Rotunda Level 1
Date: 21 Apr 2018
Hour: 11 am – 12 pm
Suitable Ages: 18 mths – 3 yrs old

Join French artist, Matali Crasset, in this special hands-on art workshop crafted especially for toddlers and the family!

2. Bouncy Adventures

Location: The Front Lawn

Suitable Ages: 2 yrs old and above

A playground that you can bounce on? Our childhood dreams have come true! Let your little ones jump freely on inflatable playgrounds inspired by the iconic mosaic playgrounds.

3. Young Cinema by Robot Playground Media (SG)

Location: The Salon Level 1
Date: 21 Apr – 22 Apr 2018
Hour: 10 am – 12 pm | 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm
Suitable Ages: 3 yrs old and above

Watch Timescapes – A Singapore Anthology, a series of short animated films about life, love and the landscapes of Singapore past and present.

4. Glass Magnet Drop-in Craft Station

Location: Glass Atrium Level 2

10.30 am – 1.30 pm

With the guide of Tinker Arts facilitators, craft your very own magnet to bring home!

5. Balloon Sculpting Station

Location: Glass Atrium Level 2

2 pm – 5 pm

Witness balloons get sculpted into the forms of our playgrounds, a feat you have to see to believe! And if you’re lucky, you’ll get to bring one this masterpiece home!

6. 3D Printing Station

Location: Glass Atrium Level 2

21 Apr – 22 Apr 2018
Hour:
10.30 am – 4.30 pm

See how 3D Printing is done and lay your eyes on 3D printed version of Singapore’s playgrounds! 

When is it happening?

20 Apr 2018 to 30 Sept 2018, from 10 am to 7 pm

Please note that last admission to gallery is 6.30 pm.
